Queen Mother Yaa Asantewaa
Yaa Asantewaa was the queen of the Edweso tribe in what is today
Ghana. She raised an army of thousands against British colonial forces
looking to subjugate her tribe. After the colonial forces won, she lived
in exile until her death in 1921
